the Ueli
It started with an old riding boot and a simple request: create a minimalist wallet small enough for a front or shirt pocket. The early prototype had a distinctive curved top, a unique feature I kept as a nod to its up-cycled origins. It featured one pocket for cards and cash, and a small zip compartment for coins.
But, as often happens, the simplest ideas are the hardest to perfect. The first version was too compact, too tight, and frustratingly difficult to use. The initial fix was just a slight adjustment—a mere half-centimeter more width. Better, but not quite right.
The real challenge was the coins. They kept getting stuck in the top of the pouch. And let's be honest: shaking your wallet just to pay for coffee is not elegance.
That's when I built Version 2.0 and integrated something I initially wanted to do. Through refinement, the flaws were finally ironed out. It was only then that I gave it a name: the Ueli.
The journey from the original prototype to the final product was one of constant listening and redesign. The Ueli isn't just a wallet; it's the result of several beta tests, minor triumphs, and major overhauls, culminating in a product that works as beautifully as it looks.
